The New York Post reports that Pedro Martinez has advised MLB teams that he is willing to pitch this year for between $5 million and $6 million.
MLB teams are planning to issue a report in the New York Post thanking Pedro for his time and wishing him the best of luck in his future endeavours.
Gary Sheffield, who signed a one-year contract with the Mets on Friday, has already announced that “under no circumstance” will he DH.
When asked if he was aware of the National League rules, he insisted, ” I don’t care what the rules say – I am not doing it.”
Sheffield has also advised the Mets that he will not play night games, go on road trips or play against any of the other teams he has played for in the past (MIL, ATL, FL, LAD, SD).
Finally, Sheffield has advised the media he will not talk about Barry Bonds, Jim Leyland, Paul DePodesta, Salary Dumping, Matt Mieske, the Triple Crown, Ernest Riles, or Tom Trebelhorn.
Sheffield also wanted to be clear that everything does not revolve around him.
